According to experts, about 1/3 of the world’s population is infected with the tuberculosis mycobacterium. Of the 2 billion carries of the potentially lethal disease only about 10% actually show symptoms. I am one of those unlucky few, and to add fuel to the fire, I am living in Japan.

This blog will focus on the day-to-day life of being hospitalized in Japan with TB, and will hopefully offer a resource to other people inflicted with the disease in this country. I will attempt to post daily about my experiences and observations of being hospitalized in Eastern Asia.
